POOR customer service
I tried online buying (10) 1 foot 2" tube height extensions for my carport from the VersaTube site on Sunday but couldn't complete the order. I then emailed the company on Monday to get a final price on the items and get my online order going.
No reply. I phoned VersaTube on Wednesday and got voice mail.
I left a message to call me back please. This is Friday evening and still no call, email.
Missing pieces, poor customer service

Overall, OK
Had a promised delivery date of Nov 14. Was told sheet metal came from independent supplier, about a week after frame.
Sheet metal showed up a week before frame. Frame was 10 days late, pushing my assembly from 60+ degree weather to 40 degree weather. Some sheet metal trim pieces were damaged, and shorted some screws. All replaced within 3 days, we’ll before frame arrived.
Frame finally arrived Nov 24. Paid for unloading, and had no issues with delivery. No missing pieces. Went together with very good instructions, using the generic assembly book, and specific drawings emailed by Versatube.
Aside from the late delivery, overall am happy with the result. I’ll order again from Versatube.
I’m 65 and it took me about 9 days, working 6 hours/day.... only had help from my lovely bride, standing up frames.

HOW CAN YOU RUN SUCH A POORLY MANAGED COMPANY AND STAY IN BUSINESS?
If I could give 5 negative stars this would be the place and time. I usually don't write reviews.
It takes time and I am a flexible and forgiving person, but this transaction with Versa-Tube takes the cake. My wife and I recently moved to a new, but used house. We ordered 2 building from the V-Tube. One was the classic carport 24 X 20 X 7 and the other was the Loafing Shed 30 X 20 X 8.
The order was placed 7/3/17. Both buildings were prepaid up-front via a credit card, just the way they like it. Take the money and forget about the rest the process (like customer service). The buildings were received within two weeks AND BOTH OF THEM WERE MISSING PARTS.
The loafing shed arrived without the roof sheeting and the Car Port arrived missing half of the siding and all of the mounting brackets. Of course we called right away to get help. A woman named Erica took this call and she told us that the matter would be looked into. Two weeks went by with nothing.
More calls were made, we talked to Erica again, then Jackie and also one called Clarisa. By now several more weeks had passed. I had contracted help to erect the buildings and by now my help was ready to move on. Finally an agreement was made on the Loafing shed to return the money on the roof sheeting.
We received a check. At that point I went to the local Home Depot to purchase the roofing, but still no progress on the Car Port. We tried to make a similar agreement on the Car Port with no luck or rather cooperation from Versa Tube. Finally I told my wife to contact the credit card company to see if they would help us, Bingo!
After giving them all the details, the credit card company said we could look for a credit on the account in 3-4 days. I had enough of Versa-Tube. Winter is at hand in Northern Minnesota. we have run out of time to build.
I no longer want the Car Port. At this point, Versa-Tube came awake and started to return calls and respond. (Imagine that.) Today is October 16th, 2017. The Car Port was finally picked up by V-Tubes shipper and we still have our money.
I am a small business owner. I know what it takes to run a business.
I don't understand how a company can treat customers the way they treated us and remain a viable business. My advice, if you want a steel building; find another company!

So far so good
I bought a summit 30 by 40 ft with 12 ft Eaves. It's been fun assembling so far I just stood up all the trusses yesterday.
The only negatives I can point out or a couple errors on the plans / directions.
These frames aren't perfect they just require common sense and know-how to get everything nice and straight. Versatube had to delay shipment for whatever reason but was very generous with giving me some money back.

Missing / damaged parts, otherwise OK
Purchased 20x55x16 garage with hat channel, frame only Everything arrived on time (kind of), driver helped unloading a promised Number of items were bent and damaged. Some were missing.
Contacted Versatube, they promised to replace. Never did. We managed to salvage most of the damaged items (took two days to unbend). Found a way to make it work using locally available parts.
Instructions are OK. They do supply generic printed book which comes with the kit along with building specific one which is linked in one of the email. We missed that and used the one that came with the building. It turned out to be very different and we had to reassemble quite a few things.
Entire project took about 12 days from sunrise to sunset.
Very time consuming. Picked up roof / side panels for about 1/2 of Versatube price locally
- Web site constructor
- Missing items
- Poor packaging - damaged items
I will not be buying from versatube
Wish I had all the parts
Will not last
Roof is rusting after one year in Southern California with no rain or snow!!!! It is bad in spots with no defects or scratches that would allow rust to form.
Just pure junk paint. The one I replaced was 30 years old and the frame rusted but the roof panels where still rust free.
This is the most disappointing condition a homeowner can face since I did the installation I'm sure that they will not do anything about this complete ripoff of material and lack of quality control. I'm sure someone is getting rich and the when go out of business leaving me out of my money , time and sweat equity.

VersaTube Delivery Service Review from Oakland, California
Do it your selfers .
Happy Ram
After much research, I decided to go with the Versa Tube Grand. I have read the reviews and admit I had the same issue with the free shipping, and never heard back from my salesman, who was not in Collierville, TN.
Also the packaging; ridge cap, trim pieces, screws, etc. was poorly done. As I understand it Versa Tube only makes the framework, the rest is outsourced, so poor packaging is not entirely their fault. Having said that, let me say that the sales, customer support in answering questions, the speed of replacing damaged panels in shipping, and follow-up assistance has been some of the best I've ever gotten, from any company.
Most of the other brands included installation, but I figured, how hard can it be. Being almost 69, and doing 98% of the work alone, I had a neighbor help lift the frame pieces, it took 11 days of hard work, but I'm very pleased. My wife says the cosmetic improvements I made to the front, using some of the scrap pieces, make it look more finished.
So to sum up my review, Versa Tube is a very customer friendly company, and I would highly recommend them to anyone planning a steel car port.
- I liked the construction of the product and the customer service

The VersaTube company rep did contact me and made it possible for me to order the items easily. I had always been a fan of their carports and their quality but the last one I bought was a little too short for my 4wheel pickup.
These height extensions will definitely solve that issue.
Glad it worked out well after all. Thank you Erica and Jaci.
